What’s going on in Sport this Month – Feb 2026 (PLEASE READ)

February 7, 2026

Now that we are over the shock of it being a whole new year, and generally remembering 2026 when writing the Date, Sport really ramps up, in a big way this month.

NFL

51 weeks of the year we really don’t care, but Superbowl is one of those iconic event. This year, on Monday the 9th, Seatle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots. Check out our Promos from 7:00 AM.

Cricket

The T20 World Cup runs from 7th Feb until 8th March with matches starting at 1:30 PM, 5:30 PM or 9:30 PM. Check out our sports schedule

The 2024 T20 World cup was won by India over South Africa. Top teams this year include the 2 host nations – India and Sri Lanka, as well as Australia, England, New Zealand and the Previous finalists. But is this doesn’t colour your fancy, Oman, Nepal and Namibia could use your support. There is already a heap of controversy with Bangladesh booted from the tournament, for refusing to play in India, and Pakistan boycotting their match against India, in Colombo.

Union

6 Nations opened up with a game on Thursday night, 4:00 AM Friday morning here, with Ireland and France. A shorter season this year with only one break week. The last game – France v England, likely to determine the winner, on 15th March.

France , England and Ireland are a league above the rest, Scotland will be dangerous at home, and Italy and Wales to fight for the Wooden spoon on this one.

Handlebar runs a tipping comp on this which you can  win a beer ticket by signing up at https://www.superbru.com/sixnations/pool.php?p=13118057

Super Rugby kicks off on Fribay 13th, and runs until June. Last years Comp was the closest in a long time with the Aussie teams really stepping up. Blues, Crusaders, Brumbies, and possibly the Drua will be there at the sharp end, but eyes will be on the Reds, as Les Kiss coaches his last season before becoming Wallaby Coach.

We are also running a tipping comp on this at https://www.superbru.com/superrugby/pool.php?p=13125511

URC also resumes on 21st Feb. Glasgow, Leinster and the Stormers are currently heading the table, with 6 rounds before the finals.

French Top 14 is not something we normally play, but with 10 rounds to go Toulouse are pretty much dominating.

English Premiership Rugby is on hiatus until the 6 nations finish

Rugby Seven

The SVNS circus hits Perth this weekend, for a fix of fast paced running rugby.

NRL and AFL

Both of these are on Preseason with AFL State of origin, and NRL indigenous vs Maori team the highlights. The season proper kicks off early March.

Winter Olympics

If nothing else takes your fancy, then the Winter Olympics kicks on the 6th. I like the speed skating, and the ski jump, but mainly when they crash.

Soccer

Or call it football if you are offended by its various other names. EPL continues, with Arsenal and Man city at the pointy end, while in the Scottish Premiership something odd is happening. Hearts are leading both Rangers and Celtic. La liga, Bundesilga, Serie A, I have no idea, but if you’re into this, I am sure you know more about it that we do.

Motorsports

MotoGP start on 27th Feb, but the Thai Moto GP race day is on the 1st March.

F1 has a test day, before kicking off in March

Superbike Australia 22nf Feb. As does the new format Supercars with Chevy’s Fords and Toyotas. Strange part is the Toyota Supra has the most Australian content.

Nascar kicks off in February also but the times make this difficult. However, here is a replay of every Race: A couple of dozen cars drive really fast, turning left every 6 seconds for about 4 hours, and occasionally one would accidently turn right and cause havoc. All the cars would then go to the pits, and the crew chiefs would yell at them, then there would go off and continue turning left.
